Dr. Jim Amyx     

Dr. Jim Amyx completed his undergraduate studies at Texas Tech University, graduating with honors in 1996.  He then attended veterinary college at Texas A&M University College of Veterinary Medicine, from which he graduated with honors in 2000. Upon graduation, he joined the U.S. Army Veterinary Corps where he served for six years as the installation veterinarian at Fort Sam Houston, TX and Fort Sill, OK providing veterinary care to Military Working Dogs, government-owned horses and soldiers' pets. In 2003, Dr. Jim was deployed to Kuwait and Iraq at the onset of Operation Iraqi Freedom. He is very proud of his military career, especially his Airborne badge, and loves to share his experiences. Dr. Jim left the Army in December of 2005, and has been in small animal - general and emergency practice - for the past 5 years. Dr. Jim shares his home with his wife, Ann; his children, Claire and Ryan; and his pets - his fierce Chihuahua - Winnie, Dachshunds - Cammie and Molly; and Lhasa Apso - Emmy.  He also practices one evening per week as an Emergency Veterinarian at Animal Emergency Clinic SH 249. 

 

 



Relief Veterinarian

 

 Rene Rubio, DVM

 

Originally from Mexico, Dr. Rubio  attended veterinary school at Oklahoma State University College of Veterinary Medicine.  His wife, Kelley, is originally from Orange County, California.  They have five children.  In his free time, Dr. Rubio enjoys fishing, wood carving, church activities, and spending time with his family. Dr. Rubio normally assists Four Seasons Veterinary Hospital every other Saturday.
